Coronavirus Update

UPDATED: April 5, 2020

To our valued patients and families,

First of all, we hope you are all healthy and safe. We miss you and happy April!

Secondly, our main concern is your health and safety and that of our team. As per our governing bodies, the Province of Ontario and the Ministry of Health, we are still unable to open the clinic to our patients and it is very difficult to predict when that date will be. We understand that this can be challenging to many of you who are wondering how this will affect your treatment plans. We can assure you that we are working hard from home to ensure that when that reopen date arrives, we can look after each and every one of you in the most efficient and timely manner. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

*As a reminder, if you have an appointment scheduled in the next weeks, you do not need to call or email the office to cancel it. We will contact you to reschedule this appointment once we have a date that permits us to reopen the clinic.

Thirdly, the team and I will be reviewing each treatment plan and you will be contacted by telephone ONLY IF THERE IS A CHANGE TO YOUR ELASTIC WEAR. If you do not hear from us, please continue to follow the instructions you were given at your last appointment. If you require urgent care, please call the office at 613-822-7001 on Monday or Wednesday from 9:00am to 12:00pm to speak with one of our team members. Please see the following list to determine if you need to be seen for urgent care only.

  • If your appliance (Herbst, expander, other appliance) has come loose and/or is causing substantial pain, please contact our office.
  • If your wire has broken or moved in such a manner that it is puncturing your cheek and cannot be managed with wax alone, please contact our office.
  • If you have experienced dental trauma while wearing braces, please contact the office.
  • If you are experiencing the signs of infection, as a result of your orthodontic appliance (including pain, swelling, fever), please contact the office.

Finally, we wish you continued health and safety. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, stay at home except for groceries and medical care and be patient during this challenging time. Be kind to others and to yourselves. We will get through this together.
